Job Description for Estate Planning Attorney
Empirical Wealth Management is a rapidly growing financial services firm that manages about $7 billion in assets for individuals and businesses. Since our inception in 2006, we have expanded through steady referrals from clients and business partners, with a goal to grow our assets under management to $10 billion within the next two years and to continue opening offices across the country.
Our partner, Secure Legacy Law Group, P.C., is seeking a talented estate planning attorney to join the firm’s practice in Irvine or Los Angeles. Attorneys with Secure Legacy also have the opportunity for a dual employee role with Empirical as an Estate Planning Advisor.
Secure Legacy Law Group, P.C., is a boutique law firm with offices in Washington, Oregon, and California. Secure Legacy provides practical estate planning advice based on years of experience and a clear understanding of our clients’ needs.
Candidates must be highly motivated and interested in joining a busy practice group that represents many high-net-worth individuals and couples. Candidates will have a demonstrable track record of providing exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create client specific estate plans that reflect the client’s goals and objectives
- Provide planning for generational wealth transfers through estate and gifting strategies
- Manage existing and build new client relationships
- Support and collaborate with other members of the client’s advisory team
- Manage workflow, budgets, and billings
- Evaluate and develop processes and procedures to improve efficiency
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience drafting sophisticated estate planning documents
- Admission to the bar in California is required. Multiple bar admissions preferred.
- An LL.M. in tax or comparable experience is preferred
- Ability to manage multiple client engagement and projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Willingness and desire to be part of a team
